Hi seamless friends ;D 2.046 is ready for download: www4.tpg.com.au/users/gperrett/seamless3d/index.htmlWriting the new tutorial Build an Avatar I realised there was a more straight forward way after all for how to make BranchJoin nodes transform descendant parts or not so I have modified the design of the BranchJoin node just a little. This should not cause problems because 2.046 will convert any old smls files and I only documented the old way for how to transform descendents a day or 2 ago in the new build an av tutorial which has now been updated already. 2.046 also has had some work done on making it able to record actions from the F10 menu and convert them to build nodes but so far this only applies to trimming type nodes like DelPoly, GenPoly, SwapDivide, JoinVertex and SplitTri A bug that could cause a crash when the clearCycle field was checked if the part contained geometry has been fixed. Many thanks to marboro for finding and reporting this bug. best of luck with 2.046 thyme

Ouch, Thyme! Just D/L'ed latest seamless from the post antecedent to this one, and installed it (and THEN dx9) but I get the dread GPF... DX9 went in without issues, Seamless seemed to install without issues, but no workie Any suggestions would be immediately attempted in case you need to know, I'm running win98 on a 400MHz P4 based Toshiba Tecra 8000, with one of those dinky (non-accelerated) geomagic laptop graphics adapters. If need be I can set it up on the wife and kids PC out in the front room. Just let me know the error of my ways and I shall repent forthwith Be Well, Hiro (FriendOf)

Hi Hiro I think the reason why Seamless is failing here is because of the computer having no accelerator card. The code for setting up the DirectX is pretty raw and simple. I did have it once check for if to set up for software rendering I remember but simplified the code even more since I found some of the extra code I had added in regard to setting up the direct X made it not work properly for voodoo cards. I want to make seamless3d utilise direct x 9 instead of direct x 8 soon as I get the chance so I would rather attempt hardware trouble shooting after I get this done to save on limited time. To my understanding seamless with a popular video card on win98 or win XP will work fine but I have heard some say it wont work on win2000 but others with 2000 say it did for them. Alain said it worked for him and he has win ME if I got that right. Yes please if you can try seamless on a computer with a 3d video card. On some cards seamless wont work unless you change your desktop to a different bit depth. Some times changing it from 16 bit to 32 bit and may be even the other way around can make the difference of it working or not. Hope to get the hardware sorted some day better but so far one way or another some one has been able to get by how it is at the moment. Sorry for the inconvenience. best wishes thyme
