hi seamless friends ;D Barphe, Griff and possibly others have asked if there is a feature where you can stop the animation at a point in time to assist in animation development. 2.055 now has such a feature called freezeTime. The freezeTime control panel can be opened form the main menu (F10) or by pressing Shift+9 It should be self explanetry to use and work for both simple linear VRML interpolators as well as seamless circular/accelerateor types. Miranda pointed out to me the name for the new node CoordSweep might get confused with ColorSweep which did cross my mind before. Because I have not yet documented the CoordSweep node I have decided to changed its name to EvolveCoord for 2.055. I have also changed it to uses elliptical curves instead of circular curves to define the curve that defines how the shape evolves (sweeps) from one shape to another. In recent versions of seamless I have done quite a bit of work in making seamless able to display standard VRML geometry nodes like the Box, Cone, Cylinder and Sphere nodes. Textures are mapped to these primitives when an ImageTexture is used. Recently I found a bug in the Box node's code that caused seamless to crash which has been fixed for 2.055. I have fixed some other bugs and improved the speed of the ECScale node when used with branch joining best wishes thyme

Tried out the new Seamless ... with Time Freeze. Not sure whether I expected too much .... or I am being dumb ;-) I can start an animation, then freeze it at some point in time by using the Time Freeze window. I can view my av from all positions at this stopped point. But ..... if i try to change a value of an interpolator ... the Time Freeze window *disappears*. I can change the interpolator value (does not update in model window) .... but know I'm stuck If I go back to main menu and click Time Freeze ... Seamless crashes. Shift +9 does nothing. I seem to have no way to restart time ...... or maybe I'm just being dumb ;-) griff

Many thanks for finding that bug griff!!!!!!!! I must have never tested freezeTime again after opening it once because it causes a crash without fail if you try to reopen it I now see. I have fixed this for 2.056 which is now ready for download. The other bug you found where nothing happens after changing the Interpolator while time is frozen was the same bug that has now been fixed. I made seamless only allow for one control panel to be open at once to simplify seamless's code but some time in the future I may have it so a window like the freezeTime control panel and a node's control panel can both be open at the same time if it seems worthwhile. I can now see a problem with having Shift+9 for the short cut key because such a short cut key will only work when the 3d window is the selected window. For 2.056 I have made Ctrl+F11 the shortcut key so that it will open the freezeTime control panel no matter which window is open. The control panel for the selected node can be quickly opened back by pressing Ctrl+F12 For 2.056 I decided to add another field called multiply to the freezeTime control panel, not just to make a otherwise simple feature a little more complicated heheheh but I think it should simplify the maths when used with Interpolator nodes because these nodes use a range from 0 to 1 for the key field regardless of how long the animation cycle lasts. If for example you have an animation sequence that last for 6 seconds you can set the multiply field to 6 so that the time field will range from 0 to 1 instead of 0 to 6 for the 6 second animation cycle. Sorry to everyone who tried 2.055, hope 2.056 is more successful in freezing time best wishes thyme
