Hi Seamless freinds
To download please click on this link:
www.seamless3d.com/download
This is the first version that can now import into Part nodes not just IndexedFaceSet but also the standard VRML97 geometry nodes, Sphere, Box, Cone and Cylinder.
This version also has a new feature that lets the user convert complex trees of VRML97 nodes made up of lodes like Transform, Group and Shape into the form of a Seamless node (containing a skeleton of parts). This should make things a lot easier to convert standard VRML97 avatars into skin animated avatars. However please note seamless renders all its parts in hardware which makes it fast but because it does all this using the skin mesh features supported by DirectX 8.1 there is the reality that a Seamless node can only render 256 parts. 256 sounds like a ample number of parts for any avatar but programs like Spazz3d and VizX3d generate loads of unnecessary Group and Transform nodes making it easy for an avatar imported from such a program to exceed this 256 limit. Perhaps in the future I will add another feature that will eliminate nodes that have no purpose but for now it should be possible to prune nodes manually.
To convert a tree of standard nodes into a single Seamless node right click on a Transform or Group that is the root of the tree and select converetToSeamless. It is possible to convert a single Shape node to a Seamless node by right clicking on it and selecting converetToSeamless too.
Pressing F1 for help now takes you to the new tutorial page:
www.seamless3d.com/tut
A bug in the last version that did not allow ImmediateCylinders to work properly has been fixed.
Barphe recently told me there was a bug when importing shapes into Morpher nodes but I cant detect a problem in this version so perhaps I have fixed it while modifying seamless's import code in general.
best wishes
